Duprey Installed as 2012 ECAR President

REALTORS® from all over eastern Connecticut met on December 2 to install newly elected officers and directors for 2012.  Wright’s Mill Farm in Canterbury hosted REALTORS® and friends as 2012 President Catherine Duprey of Duprey Real Estate took the oath of office. 

ECAR member Robert Kimball, 2012 President of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS® was the installing officer. Robert Kennedy, Executive Vice President of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS® was the Master of Ceremonies.

In her incoming remarks 2012 President Cathy Duprey discussed her theme for 2012. She said “ Someone recently asked me why I care so much about being a REALTOR. WE are the people who can make the difference and MAKE IT HAPPEN for our communities and our industry.

MAKE IT HAPPEN for your client who needs your expertise to maneuver through that complicated short sale.  MAKE IT HAPPEN when you have to recreate the tools your clients expect you to use to effectively market their property. MAKE IT HAPPEN when you choose to sharpen your skills so you can be at the top of your game or simply lend a hand to a fellow REALTOR. WE are the leaders of tomorrow, and the dream of homeownership is in our hands.  Please reach out with me to MAKE IT HAPPEN for our selves, our families and our communities, and let’s MAKE IT HAPPEN in 2012.”

In her outgoing remarks, 2011 President Samantha Storey said “There are just too many good memories that I will leave behind.  I have had the chance to play a part in some interesting experiences. I’ve done these things with so many terrific people it would take up an hour to name you all.  These people have been supportive and inspirational …in good times and bad so I want to say thank you.” She concluded her remarks by saying “Sadly, all things must come to an end but Dr. Suess would have said “Don’t cry because it’s over, Smile because it happened”    Thank you everyone for a wonderful year.”
