Connecticut REALTORS® reports that the single-family residential home median sales price is $248,750 which reflects a 3.6 percent increase from $240,000 in that same time period last year. Median indicates that half the homes sold for more and half for less. Single-family residential home sales in Connecticut increased 2.4 percent comparing December 2016 to December 2015. The total units of homes sold were 2,958 in December 2016 and 2,888 in December 2015.

Townhouses and condominium median sales price is $166,000 representing a 14.1 percent increase from $145,500 in that same time period in 2015. Sales in Connecticut increased 12.4 percent comparing December 2016 to December 2015. Total units sold were 691 in December 2016 and 615 in December 2015.

In Eastern CT, The number of single family units was 1105,  up 12.18 % from this time last year while the median price increased by 5.41% to 195, 000. Condo sales were also improved in comparison to last December, with a 15.38% increase in the number of units and 8.53% median price increase to $140,000.  The number of days to sell a condo increased from 85 to 98, while the number of days to sell a single family home decreased from 85 to 79 compared to last year.
