The Eastern Connecticut housing market continued its slow, mixed improvement during the third quarter of 2014. The number of single family sales increased 10.42% over the third quarter of the previous year. The median sale price was flat (-0.05%) and the average sale price declined 4.85%. It is apparent that the presence of foreclosures and short sales in the market has and will continue to have a negative effect on median and average sale prices.
