Christiansen Named ECAR REALTOR® of the
Year

Robert Kimball, Eastern Connecticut Association of REALTORS® REALTOR® of the Year Committee Chair, announced Carol Christiansen of RE/MAX Realty Group in Gales Ferry is the 2010 REALTOR® of the Year as the final agenda item at the REALTOR® of the Year and Member Appreciation Night at the Spa at Norwich Inn in Norwich on June 10, 2010.
Christiansen has been active in both
the REALTOR® organization and the community for a number of years. She
is currently the Immediate Past President of ECAR, having served as President,
President Elect, Secretary and Director in prior years. She has chaired or been
a member of numerous ECAR committees and has earned the ECAR Honor Society
Award every year since its inception in 2006. At the State Association, Carol
is currently serving as the Vice President At Large for Regions 3 and 4, has
seved a state Director, is a frequent contributor to the REALTORS.®
Political Action Committee, and has served on the Legislative/Politcal Affairs
and Professional Standards Commitees. Locally, she has volunteered for numerous
civic organizations in Ledyard and throughout the area and has been a Lifetime
member and Adult Volunteer for the Girl Scouts of the USA for over 20 years.
In completing the award information
form, Christiansen wrote “I’ve always treated other REALTORS® as
colleagues, not competitors. You should be measured by your reputation, not by
how much money you make.”
The other finalists for the Award, Cathy
Duprey of Duprey Real Estate in Dayville and Cathy Newlin of RE/MAX Home Team
in Waterford, were also recognized for their significant REALTOR®
and civic accomplishments.
Prior to the REALTOR® of
the Year announcement, Susan Barnhouser announced that Robert Kimball of
William Raveis Real Estate was chosen as ECAR's nominee for the 2010 State
REALTOR® of the Year.
