Matt has recently made a career change back to where it all started…in the hospitality industry as the Director of Sales for the Courtyard by Marriott in Norwich. He has traveled the country representing Eastern CT and Mystic Places to encourage travelers to come experience all that our area has to offer. His passion has always been helping people to find the perfect place to call their own. In the past, it was helping them to finance a place to call home, and now, to find a home away from home while vacationing or on business.
He has served as an active affiliate member of the Eastern CT Association of REALTORS® for over 10 years; serving on the Community Relations Committee and the Young Professionals Network. Matt was recently honored as the Eastern Connecticut Association of REALTORS® 2016 Affiliate of the Year and was named Connecticut Magazine’s Five Star Mortgage Professional from 2011-2015. He has also received multiple Gold Circle awards from Marriott Hotels.
Matt volunteers annually for Habitat for Humanity and the American Cancer Society. He has served as President and Vice President (currently) of the Rose City BNI chapter. This year marks the 7th annual BNI Golf Tournament that he coordinates to raise funds for their scholarship program which donates over $5000 per year to local high school seniors and college students. He also serves on the Three Rivers Community College Advisory Board and works with the Business Department to help students with networking skills.
He currently lives in Groton with his wife Melissa and youngest daughter Arielle (18) who will be a Sophomore at Central Connecticut State University this Fall. His daughter Harleyann (20) married her Navy sweetheart Seth this year. Amanda (22) graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelors in Communication this Spring and his oldest daughter Katie (27) has given him 2 beautiful grandchildren, Kyla (3 months) and Cole (2.5). In his spare time he enjoys golfing and attending Red Sox games.
