Connecticut REALTORS® reports that single-family residential home sales in Connecticut increased 7.5 percent comparing August 2015 to August 2014. The median sales price of $257,900 represents a 4.4 percent decrease from $269,900 in that same time period. Median indicates that half the homes sold for more and half for less. Total units of homes sold were 3,384 in August 2015 and 3,149 in August 2014.
Townhouses and condominium sales in Connecticut increased 8.3 percent comparing August 2015 to August 2014; with a median sales price of $174,000 representing a 5.5 percent increase from $165,000 in that same time period in 2014. Total units sold were 784 in August 2015 and 724 in August 2014.
Statistics released from the National Association of REALTORS® today indicate total home sales nationwide (includes single-family homes, single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops) increased 6.2 percent comparing August 2015 to August 2014; and the median national home sales price is $228,700. Regionally, Northeast home sales increased 6.1 percent in that same time period; with a median sales price of $271,600

In eastern Connecticut the number of single family sales rose 3.89% but the average and median sale prices dropped 2.25% and 5.49% respectively.
